How well do you think the course conveyed those takeaways?

I think the course did convey the takeaways pretty well. From the in-class exercises that quizzed us on these ideas and working on the group project, all these things helped me learn more about the takeaways. Overall, this class did well in highlighting the takeaways.

Were there any other particular takeaways for you?

I think the only other main takeaway for me was learning to work with I learned a lot about working with a group on a software project. We all taught each other new things which is super fun and interesting.

How did you feel about cold calling?

I think the cold calling was good. It was nice hearing the perspectives of others in the class and helped me pay attention to the lectures.

How did you feel about specifications grading?

At first, I didn’t really know how well it would go since it was my first time taking a class that was using this grading style. However, after a few weeks, I got comfortable with it and knew what was expected.

How did you feel about help sessions and office hours?

I didn’t really use the help sessions and office hours in the class.

How did you feel about the support from the TAs?

The TAs provided a lot of support. For the projects, they created detailed specs of what was expected, which helped a lot.

What required tool did you not know and now find very useful?

I thought Postman was very useful. I really like the UI and how easy it is to use. The organization, documentation and testing that one can create with it, will make it my go-to when I work on a backend again.

What’s the most helpful Web dev tool that your group used that was not required?

Reactstrap (a React wrapper for Boostrap) was pretty useful. Instead of having to know the class names of the bootstrap CSS, we could just import the components directly which made things a lot easier.

How did you feel about your group having to self-teach many, many technologies?

I didn’t mind it. It was super fun having to learn the stuff and teach each other about various tools and technologies that each of us was individually familiar with.
